Hi Everyone,
I am on the bike again in Tasmania, March 2026 ....... and I have participated for I think 18years, lost track
Why do I do this?
I have lost two family members...... my dad ( he had several amputations followed by a heart attack and died at the age of 64 .....yes, way too young !! )
I also lost a 22year old cousin in Dec 2024, onset of DKA ( Diabetic Ketoacidosis ) and went into multi-organ failure and she passed within 24hours of admission to hospital, back on my island of birth - Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean / West-Indies.
Australia - over 4,400 amputations occur yearly in Australia and diabetes is the leading cause for about 60% of all amputations in Australia.
You have supported me to fund raise over $30,000 and I am forever grateful.
